By far the best Gyro I've ever had!! I was confused at how to order at first, but didn't take long to figure it out.

What can I say - you do not want to leave this earth without trying the feta fries - they are amazing. Love the Greek Bowl, my wife loves the Mediterranean Bowl. The service is good. The ambience is ok. But I go there for The Food! Don't forget the desserts, lots of excellent choices. Best Greek food I have had so far north of Tarpon Springs.

I had the spinach pie. It was excellently prepared with the phyllo dough being crisp, the spinach and feta cheese deliciously spiced and baked to perfection. It came with a lemon sauce that wasn't overpowering and complimented the dish perfectly. There is no doubt that I will return.

While leaving Springhill headed to Oldsmar, I passed by Greek City Cafe. As a fan of Mediterranean food and hungry for dinner, I was compelled to pull over and Yelp it. Lucky me. I cannot count how many times I have been to Springhill visiting my wife's family and we have never been to Greek City Cafe. Again...lucky me. I ordered a Greek salad, Falafel pita, and the pita fries thanks to Yelp for the free coupon with check-in. The salad was fresh and loaded with olives, cucumber, tomatoes, onions, greens, and feta. The fries were crispy, tasty and tasteful, and just good fries. Now the falafel was excellent. The pita was soft and the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were accompanied the crunchy exterior of the soft, well-seasoned chickpea filling. Aw man, was it good and the Greek City Cafe is now my favorite restaurant in Springhill. The service was excellent and along not quick, it didn't take long for my order to arrive.

Arrived 15 minutes before closing, but we were graciously welcomed in by owner. Falafel was absolutely fantastic. Crisp on the outside, flavorful moist inside. Grilled pita chips were warm with a sundried tomato or olive hummus and spanakopita was light, flaky and flavorful. Nothing was too heavy or greasy. Baklava was great, larger portion than usual with a unique cinnamon flavor. Service was excellent. Will definitely return again.

Went here for the first time today!! It was horrible!!!! The meat was Loaded with salt did not taste like off a rotisserie. It was fried and over cooked all dried out. I will never go here again!! We were so let down.

Good spot for something quick and tasty. The price is right and the gyro and fries are on target. Very family friendly and the last time we stopped in there were 4 cops having lunch so you know it has be good. Cops always know were to eat. It is not full service, you order at counter and then they bring the food to you. As I said it is a fast service so you can get in and out with the kids or friend without the wait of a full service restaurant. We have ate there a few times and food has been consistent.

Always a 5! I have lived here since 1980. My favorite restaurant Spring Hill has ever had!

So good. Always pleasant experience. Lamb Gyro with feta fries are delicious. A little on the pricey side.

I was in town with my grandson to visit Weeki Wachee, saw this and decided to get dinner to go. He got the Greek salad wrap, huge portion and very tasty. I got the Medi Platter and a baklava. The platter was amazing, everything was so good. The lemony sauce that came with the chicken breast was the best part to me! The baklava was huge, full of flavor as well. I wish I lived closer, I would definitely frequent this place!

I've been here a few times now. Both times I've gotten the bowl with brown rice, gyro meat, and chicken (I forget the name of the bowl), so obviously I love that bowl and recommend it. My husband loves the feta fries. I'm not a big fan, but only because I don't like feta that much. Otherwise I would love them. Their carrot cake is to die for, definitely get a piece! Or maybe don't since they do tend to run out and you may get the last piece, meaning none for me :) My husband and I went on Mother's Day to get some food to go. It was dead there but for some reason our food took a very long time. I kind of wonder if they forgot about us somehow. For the most part I would say the food is great and the service is fair to good.

If you're craving for decent Greek food outside of Tarpon Springs, the Greek City Cafe is a nice filler in a pinch. The portions are moderate and the pitas aren't overly stuffed. The prices are also moderate. The veggies in the Greek salad were a bit too chopped for my liking and the dressing was a bit heavy which drowned the veggies in the salad (Order the dressing on the side.) The Greek salad was also missing the usual Tarpon Springs staple of potato salad. The Feta Fries are the house specialty and are definitely worth the calories. They offer a kid's menu with the usual kids fare and kids eat free on Thursday at the Spring Hill location.

I'm glad I listen to fellow Yelpers!!! I love this place!! Now if I want great Greek food it's right here in my town!! I still love my faves in Tarpon Springs! I had the Gyro with a side of Feta Fries and small Greek Salad and a drink! I was full and happy and everything was delicious :)

I have been wanting to try this place and Finally did a few weeks ago. We had the tzatziki and grilled pita to start which was SO good. I am a fan of Tzatziki and it did not disappoint. I also had the chicken Souvlaki with a side salad. The salad was to die for. Full of flavor and huge. I couldn't finish it. The Souvlaki was big as well. Jam packed with chicken, feta, tomatoes and onion. I couldn't finish it either. I'd say the only problem was I made a mess with that! I'd go back again for sure. Try this place out!

Everything was excellent. I had the spanakopita and Greek salad. It was wonderful. The pita that came with my salad was so fresh. My kids and husband had the gyros. My other daughter had the pizza on pita. Everything was delicious. For dessert, we had the baklava and some kind of chocolate cake. Delicious. The restaurant was very comfortable and had a nice atmosphere. The food came out super fast, but very fresh. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would love to eat here again.

Really great and authentic (to my best knowledge) Greek cuisine. Happy and helpful staff, clean restaurant and nice atmosphere.

Visiting my retired parents in Florida, we stopped by here after checking out the mermaid show, with the family, at Weeki Wachee. For an informal, "Panera" type feel, this Greek spot was on point! We enjoyed everything on the menu (we stayed on the vegetarian side) - so that included the pita chips (very large portions) as well as the falafel. The only negative was the hummus. It was not creamy nor fresh (it tasted like it had freezer burn), but hopefully next time I'm visiting my parents, that won't be the case.

I used to work in the area and Greek City was one of my favorite lunch spots. I wanted to come back to write a review of this place because today I frequented another Greek restaurant and it just didn't stand up to the value and taste that you get at Greek City. I always enjoyed the service I received at this location, it was a pleasant place to spend an hour and relax in the middle of the day. I loved the food, my regular pick was the chicken souvlaki pita with the greek salad and feta fries. The only problem with eating there is that I really didn't want to go back to work after because I would be stuck in a food coma.

Found this place through yelp search when I needed a vegetarian-friendly place to stop for lunch on a road trip. We took advantage of the yelp deal for feta fries, which my companion really enjoyed; I thought they were good but could only eat a few as it was a little dairy overload for me. I also ordered a side of falafel with greek salad and the portion was huge! The salad was really good but the falafel was not like what I'm used to eating; it seemed very "egg-y". They also have a very tasty berry tea. I would stop here again if I was in the area, also it's not very far from Weeki Wachee.

I have been coming to Greek city since they opened 6 years ago. I have never had a bad meal. There falafel is best I have ever had. Feta fries are amazing. Katy the manager is a great gal. One of the few great restaurants Spring Hill has to offer.

  • A Z.

The lady behind the counter was sort of rude and impatient with me. This was my first time, so I took my time looking at the menu (off to the side, not even in front of her or holding up the line) and she pressured me into hurrying up as if she had something better to do. I'm low-carbing so I got the greek salad which was good, but ugh the beets on top. And then at the bottom, they have some mixture.. potato salad perhaps? I was a little pissed because I can't eat it, and because it took up room where the salad I ordered could have gone. I'm sure other people might like this, but I just wanted a damn salad. They have a Yelp offer right now if you check in to get free baklava ice cream, and it looked good, but alas, the low-carb thing.

Nice, clean restaurant. The feta fries were delicious!

When they first opened, the prices never bothered me because of the quality of the food. Now that they are established, the quality has not been very good so my family and I take the drive to Tarpon instead... And it's not that much more for impeccable food.

Excellent greek food. Try the falefal

The menu is varied and all looks good. The Rice Bowl is was wonderful. And I like the lentil soup the best.

Good place for a bite if your in the area.

  • Jeanne G.

As a vegetarian, it is difficult to find a place that offers great food. I love the strawberry walnut salad; the falafel are moist and tasty, the lentil soup is good but sometimes a little salty, and the Greek Salad legendary.

I had been avoiding this place for awhile due to the lack luster outside appearance. It's built inside of an old Dunkin' Donuts building, which had turned me off initially. Today I decided to take the plunge and wasn't let down. It's got a nice bistro/cafe atmosphere. Relaxed, with some tables and booths. Not too huge, but not exactly a hole in the wall. Ordering is done at the counter, and food is brought out to you. I'm pretty sure, behind the scenes it is all done cafeteria style, with the majority of the sides prepared already, but it's all kept in the back which brings a little something extra to the atmosphere. For around $9 I had a ginormous gyro, with a greek salad and potatoes. The salad was above average, and had some beets mixed in (which I've never had with the salad before). The potatoes were done like wedges, but seasoned with oil, lemon, and what looked like oregano. They were great, with a nice acidic bite to them. The gyro, on the other hand, was awesome. Portions here are LARGE, so don't expect to leave hungry. My only real complaint was they seemed to skimp on the tsatziki. Overall a great meal for a reasonable price. Ps. Their sweet tea was fantastic, and I'm picky about my tea.

Another great afternoon at Greek City...introduced some new friends to the place, and they can't thank me enough. I figure they can buy me lunch. :)

  • Lisa L.

Tasty, average prices, decent enough but nothing special. They did have arancini which I had not seen since a highway stop in Italy (although it's definitely Italian, not Greek), which got me excited. We also got free feta fries as a check-in deal. My husband ordered a gyro. Everything was fine, but not stellar. I know neither arancini nor fries are health foods, but they were both very heavy and covered in both tons of cheese plus creamy sauces. A bit of vegetable matter, or even a tomato based sauce rather than cream, would have balanced them much more. The gyro was ok, a little small. It was a local restaurant in a place known for strip malls, so that's definitely a plus in its favor.

We were hesitant because we don't know much about Greek food and from the outside, it looks like a fast food place. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere inside though, which was more upscale than anticipated with tablecloths and real dishes. We've been twice now, and both the owner (?) And cashier were really helpful & patient with us in explaining the different menu items. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. I ordered a Greek salad, which was huge & fresh, but not being a feta lover, found it wasn't my favorite. The gyros are wonderful though. Can't wait to go back to try the portabello mushroom and one of their yummy-looking homemade deserts!

As everyone else has said, Good stuff. Great Gyro's and great Greek salads. Grew up nearby Astoria Queens NY, Which is the Greek section of NYC. So I know Greek food. Good for the Spring hill area. Better quality and more authentic down in Tarpon Springs. But for Spring Hill! Great stuff

I really like this smaller but well appointed restaurant, staff friendly, food is great, and prices are fair. very clean also and ck out the deserts. I'm told the owner owns Cody's road house next to them where the food is amazing too.. try the salad with strawberries walnuts and feta cheese its really good. 2 thumbs up!

I had my doubts, we go to Tarpon Springs for our Greek food. I have been back, taken friends, and we always enjoy the food, the people who work there are not only friendly, they take the time to explain to you any questions you have.

  • Nick S.

Overall they have a good thing going. I though my gyro and potatoes were very overspiced. The gyro didn't seem to have the same essence as the 100s I've had before. Nice decor, a little bit like the franchise foundation is being established. My wife though her food was good! As I do more ad more reviews you will notice that I can't stand places that nickel and dime you (the beef o brady's .50 cent celery with wings) and this place unfortunately is one of those. I wouldn't recommend but I wouldn't steer you away! I am going to give it another try and will report back.

I've visited the Spring HIll location & the Clearwater one. Both are good! They also offer check in perks on a regular basis. Both have good food, the menus are the same, but the Spring Hill location is less busy, and offers more seating for those of us that like to sit down and eat. As far as taste, it's good, & I will go back, but Hella's in Tarpon Spring is still my absolute #1 favorite greek restaurant.

  • Karl K.

This place may be small, but it has the best gyros in Spring Hill!

I went to Greek City with 2 of my friends tonight because they had been there a couple times lately and really liked it. We walked in and saw on the board that one of the specials was a Portabella Mushroom Panini with melted fresh mozzarella and tomato and a balsamic vinaigrette sauce.. well omg.. my friend and I both ordered it and we were amazed at just how delicious it was. It also had fresh basil leaves and the tomato was a really good tasting fresh one.. and the panini perfectly grilled.. and was juicy enough to need a couple napkins and it was huge! My friends husband ordered some chicken dish that I can't remember the name of but I tasted it and all I could say was wow. THEN... because I was so darn full, I didn't have room for desert so I took home a piece of baklava to share with my husband who couldn't come because of an injury. We just finished it and it was just wonderful.. perfectly flaky and not too sweet and just enough honey. I told my husband about the panini we had and.. well you guessed it... he can't wait to take me there SOON and I can't wait to go back. BTW.. the people who work there are very friendly and helpful so that was icing on the cake. OR... was the icing on the cake that the prices are amazingly inexpensive? Not sure but, as my fellow Yelpers can see.. I don't rate 5 stars very often but this place gets all my stars. It's not fancy and you order at the counter and sit... but still.

A nice addition to Spring Hill's less than great food choices. The Greek salad is very good, and I've never been disappointed with my other choices.

  • Renee W.

Eh. I was really expecting more. I got pastitsio, which was perfectly ok. They used ground beef instead of lamb which was a little dissapointing. Kinda greasy.

  • Sharon T.

I love the Greek Salad, and the avogolemeno soup. Gyro's are not quite as good as the ones at Niko's or the ones. in Holiday, or Tarpon Springs. The staff are friendly, and fast. Restaurant is clean.

We host a large cycling event (500 people) and have called upon Greek City to cater it the last few years. Every year we've received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our riders after enjoying their meal. And our volunteers love the team Greek City has sent to serve those riders. They always go above beyond our expectations, even pitching in beyond their catering duties. Can't go wrong. Great food and friendly attitude. Highly recommended.

I honestly wasn't expecting this place to be as nice as it was. It was very comfortable and cozy on the inside. I sat indoors because of the strong winds, but the outdoor seating looked very pleasant! I ordered the falafel pita, which was very delicious and incredibly filling. The falafel patties were a tad on the large side so they weren't as hot as they could've been, but the pita bread and the veggies were all wonderful and fresh. The falafel was very tasty, and it wasn't lacking parsley! The complementary feta fries were slightly colder than I would have preferred, but they were crispy and delicious nonetheless. The Greek salad was amazing. Next time I go I'll have to try out some of their pastries! The feta fries, falafel pita, and Greek salad left me stuffed by the time I walked out to my car with leftovers!

This is truly a great place! The food is never disappointing, the staff is always helpful and friendly, also the place is clean and cozy with outdoor seating too. Today I ordered a soup and salad combo, expecting a small cup of soup, but got a huge bowl instead. The Cali salad is delicious with a generous amount of avocado. A great deal at 7.94 in my opinion. Definitely recommend it!

Fan-freaking-tastic. This restaurant is a very welcomed addition to the "chains" that crowd the Hernando Beach area. I believe the owners also have a place in Tarpon Springs, which is the capital of Greek food in Florida. The food is delicious - you can't go wrong, and the service is friendly. We almost always get them for take-out, which you can pick up in the drive-thru window.

    (4)
  • Rebecca S.

Not your typical greek salad. Im all about stepping the recipe up, it was just not what i was expecting. I got the spinakopia there was so much phyllo and it was served with this weird sauce that tasted like nothing. I got my order to go not sure if that mattered.

    (3)
  • Todd V.

Excellent food! I had the pork souvlaki and a greek salad. I've eaten here several times and they never disappoint!

  • Cortney M.

So far so good. Only complaint is on the Steak City Wrap there are three types of cheese, I asked for only one but extra of that one and was charged.. that kinda just seems dumb. I mean I overall got less cheese so why charge me. My boyfriend's sandwich, some of the meat was over cooked and dried out. I guess maybe it depends on the cook that's working or maybe just a simple mistake. Either way overall the place is not bad and I would definitely recommend. I love the Steak City Wrap and the gyros are good as well. The Greek salad is also good but the dressing isn't my fave. The potato salad or w/e is at the bottom of the Greek salad is too good.

This fast-casual restaurant has been a wonderful addition to Spring Hill. I love coming here for their melt-in-your-mouth feta fries and hearty gyros. Their food is fresh and tasty and I always end up bringing half of my meal home because there's so much food. The perfect spot for a quick lunch or dinner or even just a dessert date! They bake their sweets on the spot and have different specialties weekly.

Inexpensive, quick and tasty. I had the gyro platter with feta fries, and it was all delicious. I also got a chocolate cake for dessert, which was very nice. We'll be back again.

I became a gyro lover when I lived in WA state. When I moved back it was hard to find anything to come close until I ate at Greek City. I love their gyro and Greek fries. My husband has given his stamp of approval as well. Very clean and friendly service.

  • JimandDonna D.

Was like a fast food place. Ok but not great. Meat was tender but other Greek places were much better. I think it may have been fatty. The soup was good but generic.
